Originally from Southern California, Alisa Nipp began dancing at the age of 4. Alisa went on to earn her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from Belhaven University and graduated with honors from National Honor Society for Dance Arts. Upon her graduation, Alisa danced in Chicago with Ballet 5:8 for two seasons before joining Ballet Hartford, and in 2023, she was promoted to Principal where she currently dances.

Alisa first began teaching in the School of Ballet 5:8 in 2020, working with dancers of all ages and levels from Toddler & Me classes to pre-professional dancers to adult classes. It was during her time at Ballet 5:8 that she was first introduced to Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT). In 2024, Alisa was certified in Progressing Ballet Technique. Drawing from her Pedagogy and Vaganova-based Ballet Teaching Methods classes at Belhaven University, she has found a love for teaching ballet and conditioning classes that support ballet training. Alisa believes in providing all dancers with the proper tools for success no matter their aspirations, fostering an open environment that values the joy of dance, and encouraging creativity within the discipline of dance. To her, PBT is an excellent tool in training dancers how to activate the correct muscles for ballet technique while bringing new awareness to correct coordination as well as educating dancers in how to care for their body.
