Kellyn McMichael, a Lilburn native, has been immersed in the world of dance for over 35 years. With a deep love for both ballet and her faith, she brings a passion for teaching and a wealth of professional experience to Loganville Dance Academy.

Kellyn began her training at Dance for Joy in Tucker, Georgia, before joining Northeast Atlanta Ballet, where she performed lead roles in The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, and Cinderella. She further honed her craft at the Joffrey Ballet Summer Intensive in NYC and was selected for the prestigious Governor’s Honors Program for dance.

Her professional career took her to the Georgia Ballet and later the Louisville Ballet, where she performed in productions such as Mary Poppins, Swan Lake, and Scheherazade. After returning to Georgia in 2005, she pursued a degree in art while discovering her love for teaching ballet. Since then, she has guided dancers of all ages, finding immense joy in watching students grow in both skill and confidence.

In 2016, Kellyn joined Refuge Dance Company, rekindling her love for performing while deepening her passion for mentorship. She later stepped back from the stage to focus on homeschooling her three boys but continued teaching at Summit Academy in Loganville and the greater Gwinnett area.

Certified in Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT), Kellyn incorporates this innovative cross-training method to help dancers develop the muscle memory essential for technical growth. Now, as the director of Loganville Dance Academy, she is honored to create a nurturing space where students can thrive, always striving for progress, not perfection.
