Ms. Stacy Wright started studying classical ballet technique under Lucia Hatcher of Firethorn Dance Academy in Tampa FL with a focus on French ballet technique and Graham contemporary method. At the age of sixteen she began teaching small children at Firethorn and eventually took on the intermediate levels and company choreography. In 1999 she graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance. While at USF she studied, most notably, under Gretchen Ward Warren, former Ballet Mistress of American Ballet Theater and author for Classical Ballet Technique, and John Parks, a former dancer of the Alvin Alley Company. While in college she broadened her knowledge of Russian and Vaganova ballet methods as well as Limon and Horton contemporary styles. Ms. Wright also had the opportunity to study under internationally renowned David Howard whose teaching style focused on kinesthetics, imagery and the physics of movement. She has a certification in Progressive Ballet Technique (PBT) a conditioning and strengthening program that helps improve dancers’ technique in all forms of dance.

Ms. Wright has taught ballet technique, contemporary and children’s classes at several dance studios throughout Florida and North Georgia, including the children’s division classes, and youth outreach classes at the Sarasota Ballet Academy. She has focused her career on dance education; developing and refining skills in order teach the technique of ballet more effectively. Former Students have attended YGAP, SAB, ABT summer programs, and have been offered scholarships to San Fransico Ballet School, the Sarasota Ballet Academy and The Margaret Barbieri Conservatory.
