JACQUELINE LOPEZ — dancer, educator, choreographer. Her 40-year career has provided opportunities to teach, choreograph, study, and perform throughout the country as well as abroad. As an Adjunct Instructor of Dance at Palm Beach Atlantic University (2006-present), she desires to uplift and educate the next generation of dance artists through strong technique, the collaboration of historical and current influences, and the reflection of life experiences uniquely communicated through dance. Jacqueline is a proven instructor of dancers of all levels, from novice to professional. Founding the dance program at The King’s Academy in West Palm Beach, FL in 2004, Jacqueline has deep experience in the parallel paths of instilling dance technique into and choreographing for several hundred students each year, preparing them for multiple performances throughout the fall and spring semesters while still building healthy curriculum to grow each individual dancer’s strength and skill.
During her time at PBAU, Jacqueline has served as co-director of the PBAU Dance Ensemble, rehearsal director, guest choreographer, and adjunct professor of Jazz, Tap, and Pedagogy courses — for which she created the course curriculum still used today (2006-2020). Residing now in Atlanta, Jacqueline is a member of the Board of Directors for Room To Move Dance (2018-present) and a member of the National Dance Educators Organization both nationally (2012-present), and for the state of Georgia (2022-present). She also teaches throughout Atlanta and the Southeast offering Jazz, Contemporary, Tap, and Dance Conditioning.
Jacqueline has presented her choreographic works on the collegiate stage (Palm Beach Atlantic University, 2006-2023), professional stage (Room to Move Dance, 2017-present; Natural Movers Dance Concert, 2023), numerous academies of dance (1986-present), and elite performing arts schools including The King’s Academy (2004-2012). Jacqueline is an author of a musical children’s book entitled “My Meals Are Singing” and continues to explore avenues in which to create and grow. Most recently, Jacqueline is a certified teacher of the Progressive Contemporary Technique (2024).
