Sarah Wilcoxon is a freelance dance teacher, choreographer, and dance conditioning expert.
She holds an MFA in Dance from Florida State University, a comprehensive STOTT Pilates certification, and a 200-hour yoga certification.
Sarah is passionate about creating healthy cultures for dancers. Her research on safe dance practice and wellness for dancers has been published in The Journal of Dance Medicine and Science and presented at numerous conferences including Dance Science and Somatics Educators, National Communication Association, Pilates Method Alliance, and International Association of Dance Medicine and Science (IADMS) conferences.
Sarah previously worked as a tenured professor of dance at Missouri State University, where she developed a nationally recognized (Dance Teacher Magazine) wellness program by integrating data driven practices into curriculum and culture. She was also a 2020 IADMS nominee for dance educator of the year.
In addition to her work in wellness for dancers, Sarah also works as a choreographer and director. Her award-winning dance films have been selected for screening at film festivals all over the world and her live choreography has been featured in musical theatre productions all over the United States.
Outside of the studio Sarah likes to garden, embroider, read, and relax with her husband and chihuahuas.
