Exercise Ball / Fit Ball

This is a great exercise for the students to focus on their turnout and build strength and stability through the hamstrings, glutes and pelvis. Remember to work within the students own range of turnout and never force it.


Starting Position: The student will place the pro-ball right up against the back of the legs with the legs over the pro-ball. Their arms are down a long the mat with the palms facing up.


Steps;

  1. Starting in parallel the student will roll up int to a long bridge position, they will take their arms to a first position.
  2. They will then flex the feet, externally rotate, point the toes, come back to parallel.
  3. The student will repeat this twice through.
  4. The 3rd time the student will flex externally rotated.
  5. Have the student do a demi plié.
  6. The student will repeat the whole exercise from the beginning.
  7. They will finish back in the same starting position.
