Mini Loop Band

Mini Loop Band

The students will safely increase flexibility in this exercise. By using the mini loop band they will lengthen the hamstrings and adductors while maintaining alignment.


Starting Position: The students will place the mini loop band over the foot and twist it in to a figure of eight, they will bring the foot that is in the band in to a table top position and hold on to the band with the same arm as leg. The supporting leg will be stretched down a long the mat with the opposite arm straight out to the side.


Steps:

  1. The students will extend the leg straight up to the ceiling.
  2. They will then open the leg out to the side and turn the head in the opposite direction.
  3. Have the students bring the leg back to the centre and take it back to a table top position.
  4. The student will then switch hands and extend the leg back up to the ceiling.
  5. The student will then take the leg across the body, turning the head in the opposite direction.
  6. They will then bring the leg back to the centre.
  7. Have the student repeat the whole exercise from the beginning.
