Recovery Class 4, guided by Ella Roper, is a calm, stretch-focused session that uses a resistance band to assist with alignment, mobility and releasing tension in the muscles. This class is best completed at the end of a training day, rehearsal, or full class—when the body is still warm and more receptive to flexibility work.
Dancers are encouraged to self-regulate their range using the band as a supportive tool. They should never force a position, but instead focus on alignment and breathwork.
The band allows for a more mindful stretch, helping to identify subtle imbalances while enforcing safe alignment.
Tips
Remind dancers to stay within a comfortable range of motion, especially if not fully warm.
Use the band to encourage mindfulness and resistance, not to deepen the stretch aggressively.
Cue the release of shoulder and jaw tension, and coordinate the movement with the breath for a full-body reset.
