Welcome to Fusion Ball Warm-Up 5 (Senior Level), guided by Ella Roper! In this session, we'll continue our warm-up series, this time focusing specifically on rotation, adductor strength, and precise alignment for à la seconde.
The class begins with Adductor Ignition Blast, to activate the inner thigh muscles immediately. Exercises like Plank Sliders promote proper alignment of the head and spine during challenging movements. Later, dancers will enhance their pelvic alignment and external rotation through targeted exercises, concluding with Rond de Jambe Level 2 to strengthen and reinforce precise positioning.
Tips for teachers:
During Plank Sliders, guide students to pay close attention to how their spine articulates, observing carefully how the relationship between their head and pelvis changes during inversions, and ensuring proper alignment of the head throughout the movement.
Remind dancers to check pelvic alignment and activation of the supporting leg during Rond de Jambe Level 2. The Fusion Ball provides immediate feedback—if it moves or shifts, it indicates loss of alignment or control.
Suggest dancers keep their eyes closed during certain balancing exercises to enhance proprioception and stability.
