The students will be lengthening the adductors and torso in this exercise. By using their breath they will find freedom of movement through the upper body. It is really important that the students work within their own range when stretching.
Starting Position: The students will take the legs into a wide second position, holding the resistance band they will take the hands up towards the ceiling.
Steps:
- The student will reach up and over towards the leg, they will then turn the body down to face the the leg.
- The student will then place the resistance band around the foot and open the chest towards the ceiling.
- They will then fold forward over the leg, extending their arms back behind them. They will repeat this sequence twice.
- The student will repeat this on the other side.
- The student will then reach both arms forward taking the chest towards the floor.
- Have the student bring the legs together and then roll down through the spine, taking the legs up and over in to a spinal stretch.
- The student will then walk the legs out 8 times.
- They will then roll down through the spine, taking the legs down to the floor.
