This exercise will challenge the students balance while also working in to lower leg stability and core activation.

Starting Position: Have the students stand in parallel and place the fusion ball between the inner thighs. Bring the hands behind the head, interlacing the fingers.

Steps:

  1. The students will perform 4 rises.
  2. Have them rotate to one side while shifting the weight onto the leg of that side, lifting the opposite leg.
  3. They will perform a fondu and return to centre.
  4. Repeat on the opposite side.
  5. Repeat the rises and fondu sequence once more.
  6. They will then execute 4 jumps.
  7. Have the students jump and land on one leg. Lower the foot to the mat.
  8. Execute 4 jumps again.
  9. They will jump and land on the opposite leg. Lower the foot to the mat.
  10. The students will bring the elbows toward each other, tuck the chin, and roll down.
  11. They will then roll up, and open the elbows and chest.
  12. Release the hands to finish.
