This exercise will challenge the students balance while also working in to lower leg stability and core activation.
Starting Position: Have the students stand in parallel and place the fusion ball between the inner thighs. Bring the hands behind the head, interlacing the fingers.
Steps:
- The students will perform 4 rises.
- Have them rotate to one side while shifting the weight onto the leg of that side, lifting the opposite leg.
- They will perform a fondu and return to centre.
- Repeat on the opposite side.
- Repeat the rises and fondu sequence once more.
- They will then execute 4 jumps.
- Have the students jump and land on one leg. Lower the foot to the mat.
- Execute 4 jumps again.
- They will jump and land on the opposite leg. Lower the foot to the mat.
- The students will bring the elbows toward each other, tuck the chin, and roll down.
- They will then roll up, and open the elbows and chest.
- Release the hands to finish.
