This is a great exercise for the students to find their centre and co-ordination. This exercise will work the whole body and build strength through their supporting sides.
Starting Position: Holding the pro-ball the students will have the feet in a 5th position with their arms in front of their chest.
Steps:
- The student will stretch the front foot to the side in a 2nd position and lower the heel, taking the pro-ball above their head.
- They will then plié in 2nd and relevé up to a passé position. The arms are in 5th on the plié and at the chest when in passé.
- Have them repeat this 3 times.
- They will then lower the heel and grand rond de jambe the leg all the way to arabesque.
- The student will then close 5th behind and repeat the whole exercise on the other side.
- They will then roll the pro-ball forward and lengthen the hamstrings.
