This exercise is to help build strength in the foot and lower leg area, which is crucial for our students to start pointe work.


Starting Position:

Instruct students to face the barre in a parallel position with the small ball placed between their heels. Their arms should rest down in bra barre.


Steps:

1. Have the student place hands onto the barre

2. The student will repeat 4 times Rising and lowering in parallel

3. The student will then rise up on two feet, flex right foot then lower, flex left foot then lower

4. They will repeat that section once more

5. The student will rise up on two feet, find balance with arms in 1st

6. Lower down


Focus:

Make sure the student is working through the centre of the foot with no rolling in or out.
