This exercise helps students develop strength, stability and the muscle memory crucial for ballet skipping. It challenges young students and builds foundational skills such as core activation, coordination and eventually moving into the classroom.


Steps:

1. Students are positioned with an exercise ball against a wall and a fusion ball under the sacrum for support.

2. Laying on a mat with their legs extended over the fit ball in a parallel position with their feet fully stretched (fusion ball underneath).

3. They lift each leg, one at a time in a skipping motion, focusing on the bend of the knee and thigh alignment.


Focus: Ensure students maintain long toes, strong posture with controlled leg movements.
