Maria Boscaino is from New York City where she trained as a ballet dancer where she had the opportunity to study with many great teachers such as Robert Christopher and Maestro Vincenzo Celli to name a few. Maria herself began teaching in 1990 and has taught ballet and modern to both children and adults in New York City, Minneapolis and internationally. In these classes she emphasizes a sensible placement and a realistic approach to turn-out. Maria feels that this method is necessary as it allows a variety of body types to enjoy the benefits of studying ballet while also preventing injuries. Although most of her personal training has been in Cechetti ballet, she tries to use exercises from both the Cechetti and Russian (Vaganova) schools as she feels each has something valuable to offer. Maria loves being able to offer her students exercises from the PBT curriculum because they are so valuable in helping them to truly understand balletic technique.
